On Thursday 2nd May Welltel and our customers attended the largest Avaya event in Ireland for 4 years.
It was a day tipped to be hugely informative but soon became a reason to celebrate for the Welltel team!
The day kicked off with breakfast and a chance to explore the amazing Avaya Demo Zone which was hosted by the very knowledgable Avaya technical team and their partners.
Next it was into the main stage where we were welcomed by David Flood, Country Manager for Ireland and Ioan MacRae, Managing Director for UK & Ireland. What followed was well thought out and inspiring content from Alison Hastings, Channel Director, UK & Ireland, Andrew Maher, Experience Evangelist and Dave O’Shaughnessy, Vertical Solutions Consultant.
The stage was then transformed for a short awards show hosted by Ciaran McNamara, Avaya Channel Manager. Drum roll please…. and the winner is Welltel for Excellence in Marketing.

Now it was the turn of our customers to truly ‘Experience Avaya’. The Avaya Demo Zone became a tech guru’s bustling dream where even the most complex questions were met with intelligence and enthusiasm.
The main stage was then reopened to both customers and partners alike. After another short intro from David Flood and Ioan MacRae the mic was handed over to Gregg Widdowson, Customer Engagement Solutions Sales Leader, Avaya and Natalie Keightley. International Solutions Marketing Director, Avaya. They were tasked with highlighting the ‘Customer Experience Challenge’, no small feat. Their polished double act brought the subject to life and real-life demonstrations of the scope of Avaya technologies was excellent. We saw how AI and automation can be (and are!) applied in the real word to improve customer experience, empower the agent experience and enable the supervisor experience.
Next up was Dave O’Shaughnessy, Vertical Solutions Consultant at Avaya on ‘Transforming the Employee Experience’ and ‘Enabling the Digital Workspace’. The mantra Get Current, Enhance and Transform will certainly stick with the audience! Dave brought to the fore how products such as Avaya Breeze, Equinox and Aura all work together seamlessly to enable home workers, office workers and those on the road to collaborate.
Last up to the stage was Mackenzie Evans, Community Engagement Coordinator for International Avaya Users Group (IAUG). The IAUG is one of the world’s largest international organizations for communications technology professionals. As the forum for the global Avaya customer community, IAUG provides a voice and resource for Avaya customers everywhere.
